Experience

IT Business Analyst, User Acceptance Testing

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey

Within the healthcare industry, production defects are a high risk to the company. The challenge is fulfilling the needs of our members, while adhering to strict regulations and ensuring that we remain compliant. As a UAT Analyst, I am able to get an alternative perspective on software, because ultimately, the users will determine if our projects are successful. I am responsible for executing test cases written as per the business requirements to guarantee long-term satisfaction for both the internal and external users.

February 2019 - Present

Bridal Attendant

Pleasantdale Chateau

As a Bridal Attendant, I learned how to manage under a high-stress work environment. I worked shifts of up to 20 hours and learned that humans are incredibly volatile beings; although this did not relate directly to my career aspirations, this was still a worthwhile experience for me because I was given the opportunity to work with a variety of personalities. This position prepared me well for entering the corporate world later on, and I am grateful for the time I spent here.

March 2018 - July 2019

Research Assistant, Mathematical Sciences

New Jersey Institute of Technology

Working under the supervision of Dr. Casey Diekman of NJIT, I performed research from Winter 2017 through Summer 2018. This gave me exposure to the world of academic research, and I performed mathematical modeling on lab data, used libraries for machine learning and data analysis in Python (numpy, scikit-learn, pandas) and presented my results at multiple conferences.

Interests

In a world full of distractions, I found that optimizing my time to focus on the tasks that matter to me is a fulfilling mission. It is so easy to get stuck in the mentality of contentment, without feeling the need to improve. I like to fail because it is the only way to learn and grow; this is a concept that applies to a variety of situations.

To improve the lives of others in the long-term, I need to focus on my personal development in the short-term. So far, I disciplined myself enough bring a few good habits into my daily life, which include cutting down on my daily phone usage by about 25%, working out before work, and reading for at least an hour, yet I never stop striving for better.

I also want to give back to the world in any way I can. I am passionate about accessibilty to education and quality healthcare, the importance of mental health and environment sustainability, so I try to volunteer whenever I have the chance, whether it is volunteering at my local high school to aid them in building a robot or cleaning a park. Everyday is a learning experience and I look forward to inspire others with my journey, just as others have done for myself.
